Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Systemic Play Therapist, Certified Creative and Expressive Arts Therapist, Certified Dance Movement Therapist, Certified Family Mediator, and Master Addictions Counselor (national certification). Taya is a culturally competent clinician and sees many people of color and those with bi-racial experiences and facing issues with marginalization, cultural identity- feeling like they don’t fit in, related social and political experiences and issues with self worth. She also has specialties in those with sexual abuse/assault, and those on the ACE Spectrum seeking support and information. Additionally, she has worked with veterans and first responders and those working within the court system and those in high stress/high impact jobs. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatics, Jungian, Transpersonal and other modalities and psychoeducation in an integrative approach allows her to meet clients where they are and utilize many strategies for positive change.

Taya is a bi-racial and multicultural clinician who grew up in El Paso, Texas in a military and civil service family both on the Indian reservation, Fort Bliss Army Base and off the reservation. After her father’s military career, he and her mother both worked in civil service at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico.

Having served for 13 years in Domestic Relations in various mental health roles.  Taya has retired from Court appointed work and maintains a private practice, SomaPsych Integrative Healing where she provides online counseling for individuals ages 18+,  provides consultations for conscious divorce and parenting plans, performs mental health and substance use evaluations, and counsels Indigenous students, staff and faculty for the seasonal Colorado University Upward Bound program for the last 20 years. In her free time, you can find her hiking, dancing, painting, playing with and taking care of animals .

Taya Matoy offers online therapy sessions through scheduled appointments. All Westside providers have access to HIPAA compliant and secure teleconferencing software to protect client privacy. Instructions to access a scheduled session will be sent directly by the provider leading up to the appointment.
