Hi, I’m Mary. I am always honored when someone feels safe and shares their personal experiences, problems, and feelings with me. Trust and honesty are the keys to creating a space where difficult conversations can lead to desired change and issue resolution. I approach my sessions as a team, addressing challenges together to become free from judgment, criticism, and pain; to allow for change tailored to your personal goals. I would love to support you and be part of your journey towards the pursuit of a more fulfilling life.

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and licensed addiction counselor (LAC) with the state of Colorado and a national board-certified counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the California State University, Sacramento in 1989. I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN in 2015.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals presenting with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, stress, and depression. I draw on a variety of evidence-based practices to best serve the needs of my clients. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help clients develop resilience, new thought patterns, and skills to address symptoms associated with emotional distress.

I have worked in multiple types of therapeutic settings including private practice, Veteran’s Administration, intensive outpatient care, court ordered treatment including addiction and domestic violence treatment, and emergency medicine. I am a self-professed adrenaline junkie; I have bungee jumped in New Zealand, zip-lined through Argentina, been scuba diving in Fiji, and thrown myself out of a plane to complete the world’s highest tandem skydive. I also enjoy slightly less dangerous activities such as public speaking, hanging out with my dogs, and interior decorating.
