Exploring your gender identity can be a deeply personal and sometimes challenging journey. People of all ages may experience questions or distress about their gender identity, including those who identify as transgender, nonbinary, genderqueer, gender fluid, or who are simply seeking clarity. These experiences can come with emotional challenges such as anxiety, isolation, family conflict, social rejection, or internalized shame. For youth, gender identity questions may surface during developmental stages, while adults may revisit gender concerns at key life transitions. Everyone deserves a safe, affirming space to explore their identity without fear or judgment.
Read more about gender identity therapy Therapy can provide that affirming and supportive space. Westside therapists use evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and family or group support modalities. Our providers tailor their work to each person’s unique experience, helping clients explore identity, reduce dysphoria or distress, navigate social transitions, and build resilience. Whether you’re seeking clarity, support during a transition, or coping skills in the face of stigma or discrimination, our therapists meet you with respect and compassion. Appointments are available in person across the Greater Denver Area, including Arvada, Littleton, Broomfield, Aurora, and Wheat Ridge, or through secure online therapy statewide. All of our therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many are also credentialed with other insurance plans. You can browse available therapists by specialty, insurance, location, and age to find the right fit for your needs. You can also call us at (303) 986-4197 or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance scheduling your first session. FREE RESOURCE: Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP)
Colorado has launched the Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) which offers protections for reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare workers and their patients. Amongst other protections, the program offers participants a legal substitute address and mail forwarding. This substitute address may be used in lieu of participants’ actual address of residency and all state and local government agencies are required to accept it. Public records may reflect the substitute address, increasing the safety of participants if someone is trying to find and cause them harm. Additional details: https://dcs.colorado.gov/acp
