Lets be honest, life can be challenging. Whether you are a kid struggling with managing your emotions, a teenager figuring out who you are, a young adult struggling with adulting or an adult managing whatever stressors are coming your way, life can feel overwhelming. These feelings and experiences change especially when things feel out of control. I work with people of all ages focusing on ages 10 and up struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, trauma or suicidal/ self harming thoughts. Be it utilizing play therapy techniques with your child, exploring your teens interests to support their mental health, or finding ways to manage the new roles that come with being an adult, parent, grandparent or all of the above, I will support you with finding the right tools to manage your world. With input from both clients and parents if applicable, we will collaboratively set therapy goals to ensure the right support is being provided and to make sure everyone’s goals are heard.
I graduated from the University of Denver in 2015 with my Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Family Systems. Since then I have worked in many areas within the social work field, including case management with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, navigating the multitude of systems and concerns affecting families everyday in a variety of clinical settings. I have experience in grief specific work with families and crisis intervention for all ages. In addition I have directly worked in schools, providing both individual, family and group therapy services to students and their families struggling in a variety of areas. These experiences have shaped me into a clinician who has a vast understanding of therapeutic modalities that can provide the best support for your child and family.
Providing trauma focused and person centered approaches I utilize Solution Focus Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Sand tray work, amongst other evidence based techniques to help the people I work with explore what brought you to therapy and how to manage your identified problem outside of sessions. I offer both telehealth and in person options, however in person availability is limited at this time.
