I work with ages 18 and up. During therapy, you’ll feel comforted by my calm and caring presence, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence. Collaboratively, we will work to address the issues you’re struggling with, build a treatment plan tailored to your needs, and seek solutions for positive change.
I assist individuals with various mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, substance use disorders, and men’s issues. I take an eclectic approach to therapy by incorporating various techniques and interventions, like treatment planning and goal setting, active listening and empathy, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, addressing cognitive distortions, and psychoeducation. Modalities I draw from include person-centered perspective, cognitive and dialectal behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing.
I hold a Master’s degree in counseling and have experience providing therapeutic care in a variety of settings, including community mental health, outpatient and inpatient facilities, crisis intervention and assessment, and private practice. Outside of therapy, I enjoy participating in activities in the outdoors, learning new things, or spending time with my family and friends.
Online Therapy
Rich Thomas offers online therapy sessions through scheduled appointments. All Westside providers have access to HIPAA compliant and secure teleconferencing software to protect client privacy. Instructions to access a scheduled session will be sent directly by the provider leading up to the appointment.
