FAQs and Details for Kaiser Members

Yes! Nearly all of our therapists accept Kaiser Permanente insurance, and other insurance plans, for mental health services in Colorado. We offer in-person and telehealth therapy sessions. To schedule an appointment or verify coverage, call 303-986-4197 or visit our Kaiser providers page.

Our in-network providers do not require a referral or prior authorization to see Kaiser Permanente patients with Colorado-based plans. Patients with out-of-state plans and some psychiatric services may require a prior authorization. If one is needed, our team can request one on your behalf to make the process as easy as possible for you. If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact our team at info@westsidebehavioral.com for assistance.

Of course! You can browse our Kaiser provider profiles accepting new patients here. Our team is also available to help you find a therapist who meets your needs, insurance, and location. Feel free to call 303-986-4197 for phone assistance, email us at info@westsidebehavioral.com, or submit a contact form to connect with us.

Details about Play Therapy

Children don’t always have the words to explain how they feel, but their behavior and play often tell a story. When a child is experiencing emotional distress, whether due to anxiety, bullying, family transitions, trauma, or difficulty in school, it may show up as withdrawal, aggression, regression, sleep disturbances, or clinginess. Play therapy is designed to help children process these feelings in ways that make sense to them.

Westside Behavioral Care offers child-centered therapy rooted in empathy, safety, and developmentally appropriate techniques. Our play therapists use evidence-based tools like child-directed play therapy, sand tray therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, art activities, and collaborative parent sessions to support emotional growth and behavioral change. We work closely with families to help children gain emotional awareness, strengthen resilience, and navigate challenges with confidence. Therapy gives children the tools to better understand their world, and themselves, while helping parents feel more supported along the way.

We offer in-person therapy at offices throughout the Greater Denver Area, including Arvada, Centennial, Denver, Lakewood, and Westminster, as well as secure online sessions across Colorado. All Westside Behavioral Care providers are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many are also credentialed with other major insurance plans. Getting help should feel accessible, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
